Foil insulation: types, material applications
Today's insulation materials market constantly brings us new products. Among these innovations is foil insulation. What is it? It's a versatile material that not only holds heat well, but also absorbs moisture, reflects vapour and absorbs sound. Foil insulation is good because it can be used in industrial manufacturing as well as in everyday life. The material is practical and durable, easy to use and relatively cheap. What is the performance of foil insulation? The material is made up of several layers, each of which performs its own specific function: a layer of polyethylene foam has low thermal conductivity, while aluminium foil retains heat well. The performance of foil-faced insulation can be compared to that of a thermos. The main difference between an insulator and other thermal insulators is the foil layer covering the material. This layer prevents the main surface from heating up, as the foil reflects up to 97% of the heat. If you decide to use Isolon to insulate your house, apartment, summer house, garage or sauna, the result is immediate: you save 30% on your heating costs.

Types of insulation
Insulation foil  is usually sold in rolls or blocks. There are several modifications of Isolon available in the industry:
1. Isolon A. This type of insulation is coated on one side with a foil layer 3-10 mm thick.
2) Isolon B. This type of insulation, with 2 layers of foil on both sides, provides better protection against mechanical impact.
FLOORING UNDERLAY
The requirements for a quality floor are simple: it must be smooth and last a long time without needing repair. Another important factor in saving heat in a building is excellent thermal and noise insulation (up to 20% of heat in a building is lost through poor quality floors).
ISOLON 500 is the ideal underfloor underlay! Important features of this underlay are its low thermal conductivity (0.036 W/m ºC) and its ability to maintain its thermal insulation parameters over long periods of time, even when exposed to moisture or mechanical stress.
Thanks to its unique structure, ISOLON 500 is a durable and long-lasting substrate that perfectly conceals any unevenness in the floor surface and offers an efficient and cost-effective solution for improving the thermal and acoustic performance of floors. Floors can swell due to moisture or simply water seeping into the subfloor.
The unique closed cell structure of ISOLON 500 underlayment prevents moisture and water vapour from the concrete from penetrating the laminate floor and keeps the concrete floor dry when wet.
Therefore, when installing ISOLON 500 underlay, unlike conventional underlay, no PE wedges are required to waterproof the underlay. The material is easy to work with: it is easy to cut, easy to install and produces little waste, which reduces labour costs.
ISOLON 500 underlay thus solves many of the problems normally associated with laminate or other floor coverings: a truly "silent floor". Thanks to its high compressive strength, it maintains
ISOLON 500 retains its properties throughout the life of the floor and its insulating properties provide additional insulation.
ISOLON 500 is almost 100% moisture repellent thanks to its closed cell structure, i.e. it does not absorb moisture residues from the subfloor and prolongs its lifetime. ISOLON 500 is odourless, ecologically and hygienically certified.
ISOLON 500 is easy to work with: easy to cut, quick and easy to install, little waste which reduces costs.
